The Heritage Council helps to preserve and promote Ireland's history, heritage and culture. When we first came on board, their existing website was content heavy, confusing, and difficult to navigate.
We worked with them to design and build a new website that makes it easier for audiences to understand what they do and find out about the projects they support.
What We Did
We started by undertaking a content audit of the existing website, while at the same time undertook audience research to understand the goals of their website visitors.
New information architecture was created that mapped the audience needs to content, this re-framed the website's emphasis so it's easier for audiences to understand what the Heritage Council does and the projects and programmes is supports.
The new heritagecouncil.ie website has contemporary look and feel, it's easy to navigate and find information, importantly, it's easy for the staff at the Heritage Council to keep up to date. We ensured that the site meets AA Accessibility standards and that it works on the latest version of all modern browsers.
Along with the main website we created two microsites, heritageinschools.ie and heritageweek.ie.
